ABOUT

Chiara Tabalno was born in the Philippines and raised in Southern California. Moving to the United States entailed a series of adjustments beyond tackling the language barrier alone. This amped Chiara’s curiosity of culture, people, and the society between the States and her homeland that led her towards the field of Psychology. However, her fondness for dissecting behavior and social institutions soon became a pursuit for Chiara wanting to connect with people through the mere observations of one another. Fashion became an outlet for Chiara as an attempt to express what she could not articulate but only feel. Chiara believes Fashion not only has the power to bring people together but move them with the power of imagination and the courage to execute visions.

Chiara is currently enrolled in Mount San Antonio College where she is in the midst of completing her associates in Fashion Design. Moving forward with her career, she plans on undergoing another big adjustment in hopes of transferring to Parsons School of Design and obtaining her Bachelor's Degree.

Fashion and Psychology are not sole interests for Chiara, her devotion also seeps as a heavy influence on her views of identity, morals, and a deep insight on modesty. Using her knowledge within the parameters of her religious background, she feels faith can offer a new outlook on how Fashion can be fueled by the provocative connotation behind religion. This can challenge people with new concepts of creativity  through the lens of the gospel.

Chiara Tabalno has considerable technological skills and is proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Software. This site contains examples of her CAD drawings and artwork. All the designs were developed using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. With the exception of the photographs, all the work is original.
